Do you keep your thoughts to yourself, assuming you don’t have anything important to share?
If you’re not completely sure you can do something, do you think, “Why bother trying?”
Do you avoid talking to people, worrying that you’ll have nothing to say or come across as awkward?
Do you second-guess yourself frequently?
Do you apologize excessively, even when you haven’t done anything wrong?
Do you hold yourself back from taking risks because you’re afraid you’ll fail?
Does your inner voice tell you, “I’m not good enough. I can’t do it”?
Do you avoid pursuing some of your goals and dreams because of fear and self-doubt?
Welcome, I’m Dr. Barbara Markway
I'm so glad you're here! I'm a licensed psychologist with over twenty years of experience counseling people with anxiety, depression, and general confidence and adjustment issues. There's nothing more satisfying than helping people learn to believe in themselves and to live their best life with greater ease and fulfillment. I've written three books on social anxiety, in addition to my newest release, The Self-Confidence Workbook: A Guide to Overcoming Self-Doubt and Improving Self-Esteem.
My hope is that my books and articles will help guide you through your difficulties to a different place:
A place with less worry, anxiety, and depression.
A place where you have clarity about your values, goals, and what’s really important.
A place where you feel better about yourself.
A place of more ease and joy.
A place where shame takes a backseat to courage.
